We viewed the following phenomena Then students picked one of the fails from the video and described the science behind the fail. Responses were written on the phenomena and daily goals page row number 1 in "Phenomena Thoughts".
When they had a discussed about the fails and defined the following on the vocabulary page in the notebooks. Mass - the amount of stuff (matter) an object has. Force - a push or a pull We then did the Chair in Hall experiment. (if missed copy data from another person in your group) Next we did 3 mini labs and recorded observations and patterns that occurred. (No make-up required)

We then learned about scale by looking at models off the solar system. Model made to scale for planet size, but not for distance - (LINK) Model made to scale for both planet size and for distance - (LINK) We then practice gathering and analyzing data. This was done by gather data about the class, and then analyzing that data. (No make-up required) We explored the question: What is Science?
Student wrote their own thoughts about was what is science. We then discussed the question as a class and came up with a class definition. If you need the definition please copy it from another student in your group. We then evaluated several ideas (gravity, UFO's, miracle cures, etc.) to see if we could could study them scientifically.
